A letter between craft & curiosity.
Re: Why I design
I’m Patty. I think a lot about how design and technology can shape feeling; how art (and everything orbiting around it) moves, responds, and settles into someone’s life.
I started designing because I loved making things. Growing up, I tried everything I could get my hands on: graphic design, video, 3D modeling, zine making, anything that lit up my curiosity. Learning is still my favourite place to be. Today, that means exploring AI and writing little bits of code to prototype faster and test ideas as they form.
People keep me curious. Traveling, listening, and seeing through different perspectives and cultures change the way I work. The best design understands the person before the problem.
I care about the tiny things: the spacing that makes a page breathe, the interaction that feels inevitable, the moment something finally clicks into place.
When I’m not designing, I’m chasing textures, colours, and moments; usually through new streets, new languages, and new kitchens.
Thanks for being here.
